Intern - More! Magazine

I was able to intern at More! Magazine for a month on the art desk.

It was my first experience working with magazines.

Getting to know the world of publishing
and what it involves was an amazing experience.

September 2011

Intern - Heat Magazine

October 2011 - April 2012

Freelance Designer - Star Magazine

April 2012

I only worked on this magazine for a few weeks as I was able to

job as a Junior Designer on Moshi Monsters Magazine.

I was still able to make friends and again learn new skills and

take away how different each magazine works.

Senior Designer - Hachette Childrens

June 2018 - Present

I have now been with Hachette for four years, and in that time I have worked with Disney, Universal, Warner, Mattel and many more. I have produced many books and continue to design books for our series fiction, IP and licensing titles within the childrens department.

Working on books has been so rewarding and I have been able to gain new skills along the way. I feel I have perfected the skill of project managing as I collate costings, liase with freelancers and studios, work up new schedules for clients and the team and also develop

my books from start to finish.

I have also taken a lead on the licensing titles for childrens at Hachette.

I work on the pitches and liase with the licensors and my publisher on any new titles that are coming our way.

I spent seven months at Heat magazine interning on the art desk creating pages for the first time. Getting to grips with InDesign and Photoshop, and learning about how this weekly magazine works.

Getting to design fashion pages was something I really enjoyed.

May 2012 - August 2014

Junior Designer  - Moshi Monsters

This was my first role as a junior designer. I learnt an awful lot on this magazine. Over the two years I got to design pages for the very popular children's magazine, and was given the responsibility of being in charge of the US and Australia magazines. Designing covers and making sure that the content that we produced in the UK was suitable for the other two magazines. I also created stickers for the UK magazines and also a one off mini magazine for the children to read when they attended screenings of the Moshi Monsters Movie.

I worked at Immediate for just over four years where I accomplished so much. I designed spreads for Girl Talk, Girl Talk Art, various Lego titles such as Friends, Elves, Chima, Ninjago and Nexo Knights.

Top of the Pops, Mega and Horrible Histories.

I also managed the in-house photoshoot's for the covermount's and various projects. I also took care of the Girl Talk YouTube channel

where I film and edited the videos. I have also produced a 20 minute video for the whole pre-teen floor, to promote the achievements

on their titles. Which wasn’t an easy task!

Whilst working there I have created several covermounts for Girl Talk, and produced sticker sheets for the Lego titles. I worked with Nintendo to produce a mini magazine to go inside the Girl Talk Magazine, and have also worked with other clients such as Disney, Monster High and Barbie to produce advertorials for the magazine.
